DOL TO HOLD RAPID RESPONSE MEETING FOR TERMINATED WORKERS
(April 11, 2012)
Labor Commissioner Albert Bryan Jr. invites all employees who were terminated by Triangle Construction & Maintenance, Inc., and who are waiting to receive payments in accordance with the V.I. Plant Closing Act, to a Rapid Response meeting on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Gertrude’s Restaurant in Castle Coakley, St. Croix. The session will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The department advises that only those eligible employees who have not received this payment should attend the meeting, which will be held in conjunction with Our Virgin Islands Labor Union (OVILU).
“In response to the myriad of questions that have been posed to the department and OVILU leadership, we felt that it was timely that we address the concerns of the union and management, alike. It is our hope that this session will bring the facts to the forefront and address some of the questions and concerns regarding the Triangle plant closing and HOVENA operations,” said Commissioner Bryan.
The management of Gertrude’s Restaurant request that all meeting attendees park in the rear of the facility.
