Commissioner’s 2023 Veteran’s Day Message

Greetings to the Dedicated Men and Women of the U.S. Virgin Islands,

In our territory, we take a moment to honor Veterans Day on November 11th. This day provides a unique opportunity to acknowledge the courageous, dedicated, and selfless servicemen and women who put their lives on the line to safeguard our nation. At the Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL), we extend our deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to every Virgin Islander who has proudly served in the United States Armed Forces. We are immensely thankful for your bravery and the remarkable sacrifices you and your families have made in the pursuit of freedom, liberty, and peace on our behalf.

As we pay tribute to these heroic individuals, VIDOL reaffirms our unwavering commitment to veterans. We are committed to providing various programs, resources, and services to assist veterans and their families in making a successful transition to civilian life. Veterans remain a top priority for us, and this includes support for their transitions and career development. The Disabled Veteran Outreach Program (DVOP) is one such initiative dedicated to supporting veterans during their transition and addressing long-term challenges they may face after their service.

Let’s continue to recognize and celebrate the veterans within our territory. Extend your support to veteran friends and family members and direct them to the extensive American Job Center (AJC) network available at VIDOL offices across the Territory, ready to assist them.

Join VIDOL in keeping these remarkable men and women in our thoughts and prayers, not just on November 11th, but throughout the entire year. We salute you!

May God Bless our Veterans, the Virgin Islands, and the United States of America!

Sincerely,

Gary Molloy
Commissioner
