Hundreds Attend “Your Career, Your Islands, Your Future- Your Journey Begins Here” Career Fair Across the U.S. Virgin Islands

USVI – Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) Commissioner Gary Molloy commended the remarkable success of the two career fairs held on April 23 at the University of the Virgin Islands Great Hall on St. Croix and on May 13 at Tutu Park Mall on St. Thomas. These fairs drew an impressive turnout of over 630 career seekers and 50 from both islands.
The Workforce Development team organized a vital opportunity for job seekers to connect with employers from both the public and private sectors. Participants included recent graduates, young adults, and experienced professionals seeking new opportunities or career advancement.

Key Highlights include:

  • A total of 633 career seekers registered showing significant interest in fields such as healthcare, hospitality, administration, IT, and skilled trades.
  • A total of 52 employers in attendance, including the Division of Personnel, Banco Popular, McDonald’s, Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority, The Buccaneer Resort, and Lutheran Social Services.
  • 351 attendees expressed interest in career training programs, with 100 already registered in the Virgin Islands Electronic Workforce System (VIeWS).

“This job fair was more than just a hiring event — it was a celebration of opportunity and community resilience,” Commissioner Molloy reflects. “We are committed to connecting Virgin Islanders with meaningful employment and career development resources.”

VIDOL extends its gratitude to our sponsors, Tutu Park Mall and the University of the Virgin Islands, for offering venues for the successful career fairs. VIDOL intends to continue organizing similar career fairs and hiring opportunities throughout the year, with an emphasis on youth employment and veteran services.
