ANNOUNCEMENT: 2024 SUMMER YOUTH WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Commissioner Gary Molloy of the USVI Department of Labor is pleased to announce the commencement of the 2024 Summer Youth Work Experience Program (SYWEP). This program offers career exploration opportunities and paid work experience to individuals aged 14 to 25. Employers interested in providing work experiences for SYWEP participants are encouraged to apply to become a worksite.

SYWEP, the most comprehensive youth employment initiative in the Virgin Islands, offers enriching summer opportunities to seven hundred (700) young individuals. Participants aged 16 to 25 will engage in a five-week subsidized work experience, while those aged 14 to 15 will join a four-week career exploration program.

Priority will be given to applicants meeting specific criteria, including:

First-time participants
High school juniors and seniors
Out-of-School/Unemployed & Dislocated Youth

Proof of citizenship or legal residency Enrollment status
Valid picture ID Resume (if available) Social Security card
Note: Applicants under 18 require parental consent.
