VIDOL IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2024 LABOR INVESTING FOR TOMORROW (LIFT) INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

USVI- Commissioner Gary Molloy of the Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) is pleased to announce the commencement of applications for the 2024 Labor Investing for Tomorrow (LIFT) Summer Internship Program. Established in 1989, the LIFT Summer Internship Program is one of the Territory’s most prominent work experience and internship initiatives.

Program Overview:

Now in its thirty-fifth year, the LIFT program offers college juniors, seniors, recent graduates, and graduate students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience over an eight-week period. Interns will work up to thirty (30) hours per week and receive hourly compensation.

In addition to gaining practical work experience, LIFT interns will participate in a special project, engage in mentorship initiatives, and contribute to community service activities. Participants will also benefit from Life Skills Management & Career Orientation Workshops, Workplace Preparation Skills, and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulation training.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the program, applicants must:

Be currently enrolled as a college junior, senior, or graduate student.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.80 on a 4.00 scale.
Be between the ages of 18 – 25, inclusive.

Application Process:

To apply for this highly competitive program, interested individuals are urged to complete the LIFT application online at youth.vidol.gov. Act fast, as space is limited this year, and the application deadline is April 30, 2024.
